Seeking your Photographs

There is a common misconception that the Scotch College Archives have every photo ever taken by, or for Scotch, but nothing could be further from the truth.

The Scotch College Archives has photographs that survived at Scotch long enough to come to the Archives, which was founded in 1985. Many photographs have been donated since then, and every effort is now made to capture photographs as they are taken by or for Scotch – although in the digital age so many are taken that this is an impossibility.

A photo does not need to be over 100 years old to interest the Archives. Many First team photographs are missing, including from the 21st century. Photographs of non-First teams rarely appeared in The Scotch Collegian and are even less likely to be in Archives, so if you have them, please donate them.

If you boarded and took photos around the school, or if you have a snapshot of you and your mates in the Quadrangle, we would love to have it. Every photo will be scanned, and those (such as the 1900 crew photo) that need digital restoration due to their importance, will have that work done, and you will receive a copy. If you do not wish to donate a photo, please lend it for us to scan.

With your help, we can create a much richer photographic history of Scotch.

If you have images you would like to donate, or have scanned by the Scotch College Archives, please contact Scotch Archivist, Paul Mishura:
