Dual Olympian, Olympic medallist, English Channel conqueror, CEO of Australia’s most successful Olympic sport and Old Boy.
Rob Woodhouse represented Australia in swimming at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics, as well as the 1982, 1986 and 1990 Commonwealth Games. He earned his Olympic bronze medal in the 400 individual medley at the 1984 Los Angeles Games. He supplemented these results with three Commonwealth Games silver medals. 38 years later, Rob became the first Australian Olympic medallist to successfully swim the English Channel.
In 1996 Rob founded Elite Sports Properties (ESP), a talent management business across the UK and Australia. ESP provide sponsorship and media pathways for athletes such as Susie O’Neill, Michael Klim, Emma McKeon and Adam Peaty.
He also played a key role in the media as a long-time swimming commentator for Nine, ABC radio and SEN radio at Olympic and Commonwealth Games and World Championships.
In 2024, Rob became CEO of Swimming Australia. His focus is to build an environment that inspires and enables Australia’s entire swimming community to perform to their potential, in and out of the water.
Rob attended Scotch from 1972 to 1982. In his final year, he served as a School Officer, holding the positions of Vice-Captain of Lawson-MacFarland House and Captain of Nankervis House. He was also a member of the First Swimming team from 1980 to 1982.
