Can you help the Scotch College Archives?

The Scotch College Archives want your photos, slides, films and videos!

The Archives do not have every still or moving image ever taken by Scotch,  so we need your help.

Missing from the collection are many 1st (let alone 2nd, 5th or 10th) team photos, Prefect, Probationer, School Officer, Collegian editorial committee, boarding house and other group photos.

Better still are the photos, slides, films or videos taken by or of Scotch boys or staff at Scotch – candid scenes in the classroom, in the school grounds, on excursions, playing sport, on the Hill.

Also great are the “first day of Scotch” photos or slides taken by families of a new Scotchie in uniform in the front yard at home before leaving for his first day at Scotch, or photos of brothers together in their uniforms, or studio portrait photos of a boy in his Scotch uniform (common until the 1960s).

Photos taken of Scotch buildings and grounds are equally valuable, including at Elliott Lodge in Healesville, or Scotch at Cowes.

Films and videos of Family Day (previously the House Sports Day), the Head of the River, football matches, Cadets parading, Scotch social gatherings or anything else relating to Scotch will all enhance the Scotch Archives’ collective pictorial record of life at Scotch over time.

In some circumstances the Archives will consider paying to get significant films digitised and will share the digitised file with the donor.
