This Anzac Day, we remember all Old Boys and staff who have served in conflicts around the world.
Allan Lawton (’62) attended the Scotch Anzac Day Service in Memorial Hall and read the Ode for the students. Allan’s Scotch connections date back to his grandfather Charles de Jersey Cohu, who attended from 1868 to 1870 and includes his grandsons Harrison (Year 11) and Oliver (Year 8) Nunn.
Allan was conscripted to the Vietnam War in the very first birthday ballot in 1965, with his birthdate being drawn, leading to his deployment to Vietnam on National Service.
Currently, 72 Old Boys are known to have served in Vietnam (some with US forces), but this number is always growing. The Scotch College Archives welcomes any information about those who served.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.
Lest we forget.
