6 June 2005: Hockey - Mens State League One was defeated by Greensborough 1-7

 About the Club

The Hawthorn Hockey Club was established in 1923 as the Old Scotch Collegians Hockey Club. Since that time it has developed womens, juniors and veterans sections. The club is currently the largest in Victoria, fielding around 45 teams, and maintains a broad range of grades to suit the needs of new and advanced players of all ages.

The top mens and womens teams play in Victoria’s top division. The strength of the club was proven in 2003, when the mens and womens first and second teams all made their respective grand finals.

The Hawthorn Hockey Club maintains strong links to the Scotch family, with close to 50 junior players currently attending the school. Furthermore, at least 50 old Scotch boys and sisters of old boys contest hockey matches each weekend down at Hawthorn Hockey Club. Around 15 senior players from Hawthorn have coached, or are currently coaching, teams at Scotch.

The Hawthorn Hockey Club is located within the H.A. Smith Reserve, which runs from Glenferrie Rd. down to Toorak Rd in Hawthorn. We have two synthetic hockey grounds that run end-to-end with a double storey clubhouse and viewing deck.

The season runs between April and September, so get in touch as soon as possible if you wish to be a member in season 2004. Summer hockey competitions run from October through until March.
