 What they are doing now!

Matt Roberts (as at 2003)
Scotch nurtured both Matt's humanity/creative interests and his science studies. After studying medicine, has is now (2003) in his second year in practice, and is applying to the Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatry to become a registrar in psychiatry in late 2003.

Matt's music interest is now looking to become more than a hobby. He has signed with a Melbourne record label called "The Sound Vault" and is hoping to record and generate local support and interest.

His nationwide release of his debut studio-recorded acoustic pop/rock album 'The Ruby Record' is scheduled for release in September.

Matt made his first 'pop' recording in the old Music Centre at Scotch on a double tape player with a computer microphone, playing the Steinway piano upstairs in room 92 (above the old Mackie Hall) with David Sheludko (Captain of Music '96) accompanying on the drums.

Ben Jesse (as at 2003)
After spending two years in Hong Kong Ben Jesse ('94) moved on to Europe and worked with a sports marketing agency. For the last eight months he has been working for the Accountants Institute in London as their Sponsorship consultant.

He is a member of the local water polo team and is competing in a short course meet in November up North.

Luke Spencer (as at 2003)
I commenced medicine at the University of Melbourne in 1995 and completed my degree in 2000. I did my clinical studies at St. Vincent’s Hospital along with Sam Hume.

I completed my internship in 2001, at the Geelong Hospital, and lived down at Jan Juc for a year. A great lifestyle down there with lots of opportunity for catching a few waves.

In 2002 I moved to Ballarat, to pursue a career in Critical Care Medicine, but changed to Pathology after half a year. I held the position of Pathology registrar at Ballarat Base Hospital for 1 year, before deciding that I would prefer a clinical career.

In August of 2002 I became engaged and on 14th December 2002 I married Tonya Roberts. She has completed a Law degree and has been inducted as a lawyer in Victoria after completing her article clerkship in 2003. The marriage ceremony was held at St. Andrews Kirk in Ballarat, with the Reception at the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery. For our honeymoon we travelled by train to WA and drove home across the Nullarbor to test the marriage early on.

Since August of 2003 Tonya and I have been travelling around Scandinavia, the Baltic Countries and Eastern Europe. As at 1 November 2003 we are currently in Munich, Germany heading to the UK slowly. I have been registered as a doctor in the UK and will seek work there, hopefully in December.

Dane Horsfall (as at 2003)
I did Medicine at Monash Uni. I took a year off to travel and graduated in 2001. I have been working as a doctor at Monash Medical Centre during the last two years. I am interested in a career in Emergency Medicine.

Since leaving school I have done a lot of travelling to Europe, UK, Africa, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, North America, SE Asia & Samoa. I played football for the monash blues for 3 years while at uni. I played guitar and bass in a band "Bungalow" for 6 years after school. I am single and living with friends in Kew. I plan to take next year off full time work and locum and travel to South America/UK and Africa.
