 What they are doing now!

Bob Grant (as at 2003)

Bob Grant ('53 & Staff '60 - '88) and his wife Judy opted for a sea change some ten years ago and now live an active but relaxed life at Ocean Grove. Their busy lifestyle now includes less directly to do with Scotch and more to do with travelling (usually 2 – 3 months a year) as well as golf 2-3 times a week, Rotary & Probus and 1-2 days work.

Bob and Judy went to Queensland recently and saw Leigh McGregor ('56) and Ros who are enjoying working with David Hosking (ex staff & Vice-Principal at Scotch) & Jill. David is now Principal of Ormiston College, Cleveland, where he has developed an impressive open plan school. He is also one of Australia's top veteran triathletes, training from 4.30am most days.

They also caught up with Terry Waites ('52) who retired to Caloundra some twenty years ago and enjoys sailing from his canal side home, travelling in his mobile home with his wife Dawn, and making a fine drop of whisky (sounds like the ideal couple to visit). Terry played in the premiership team for Collingwood in 1953 and was hoping for a Collingwood win this year (as was Mark O’Connor in the OSCAnet office!). Bob, Terry and Rodney Hood also played in the 1952 Public Schools Premiership football team.

On the escarpment near Maleny, overlooking the Sunshine Coast for some 50 km, lives Geoff & Julie Anderson.

Geoff was the stroke of those winning Heads of the River crews of '51 & '52.

Geoff worked as an engineer in Australia and many parts of the world including New Guinea, Hong Kong and South Africa and is now very content in his garden and surrounds.

They also caught up with Dick Hyett ('52), cox of those winning crews. Dick was frantically moving his legal office, as well as himself and wife Gayle into a new penthouse in Maroochydore before heading off to the Adriatic for a cruise with a yachting friend. “It was great seeing them again. We last saw them at our crew 50 year reunion for the 1952 The Head of The River.”

Bob and Judy are taking their caravan to Hattah Lakes, the Flinders Rangers and Port Lincoln with ex Scotch Staff members - Peter Crook and Alan Shugg who have recently been enjoying their retirement on overseas trips.
